Albert C Garrett (1915-1983) Abstract oil painting

A powerful abstract still life by British Painter and Printmaker, Albert C Garrett. Oil on panel, signed bottom left and further inscribed/label verso. Age related wear to the frame with the painting surface in perfect condition. There is a slight bow to the panel. The piece is in its original frame and shows a further, unfinished abstract on the reverse. The piece measures: 65cm x 95cm
 
Garrett was a prolific wood engraver who published an important survey of British engraving. Subsequently, most of the works that have come to market have been prints. His paintings are elusive.
